The former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and the
current Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has said that the audit
report on the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,
NNPC, has confirmed that about $18.5 billion was to the Federal

Sanusi was removed from his position as the CBN governor on
February 20, 2014 after he insisted that about $20 billion was not
remitted to the Federation Account by NNPC in spite of Federal
Government’s denial of the misappropriation.
